Fruited Bread Pudding |
Ingredients:
|
3 | cups | of milk |
3or4 | whole | eggs |
1 | dash | sweetner like sugar, brown sugar, maple syrup, or honey (I don't make it very sweet; honey goes with peaches, maple syrup goes with apples) |
1 | pinch | salt |
| |
Method: |
Butter a glass baking dish. |
Break up some bread (Pepperidge Farm white works well but the soft Wonderbread doesn't) into little 1/2 - 1 inch pieces. |
Fill to about 3/4 of the dish. |
Cut up some fresh fruit (apples, raisins, peaches, strawberries, blueberries, whatever you have on hand) and nestle it among the bread pieces. |
Mix the egg, milk and sweetner in a jug. |
Pour the milk/eggs/sweetner over the bread/fruit |
Sprinkle a little white sugar on the top to make it twinkly. |
Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees. |
This is a nice wholesome cold breakfast food but some bad boys like it hot with vanilla ice cream on top. |
